What is Dealflow Digest?

Dealflow Digest is a tool designed to connect investors and founders. Investors subscribe by submitting their interest areas, and receive personalized digest emails of relevant startups that are currently raising. Investors request introductions, which if the founder accepts, kicks off an introduction.

Anybody can become a scout for Dealflow Digest by creating an account and sharing their referral link with their favorite startups. A scout score is calculated based on the quality and quantity of startups referred, and the top scouts are featured on our leaderboard.

The tool was built-in-public by Yohei largely using Airtable, Softr, and Zapier (live-tweet thread covers first 80% of build).

How it Works

Investor Profiles

Investors join by creating a profile, and submitting areas of investment interest. We’re starting with industry and investment stage, with plans on adding more later. Once an account is created, they will be e-mailed a digest of relevant startups based on this criteria, and can request introductions directly from the e-mail by simply clicking a link.

Investors can additionally log-in to see their pending matches and status of requested intros, and update their profile (including their investment preferences).

Startup Submissions

Founders can submit basic information about their startup and current fundraise - required fields are industry and investment stage (for matching purposes). Startups have one open field to write a compelling short description and may add a deck via attachment or url. Each startup can only submit once per round (i.e. you cannot submit a pre-seed round twice, but can submit a seed round after submitting a pre-seed round).

Double Opt-in Intros

Submitted startups are automatically matched with investors, and included in their next e-mail digest. Investors can then requests an introduction, which will kick off a note to the founder. When the founder accepts the request, and introduction e-mail is automatically sent to both parties.

Founders can log-in at any time to see and accept intro requests from investors.
